Some government officials and some officials of the Lands Commission have been accused of indiscriminate grabbing lands belonging to the state and some Ghanaian families in Amhrahia.
In a press release dated July 29, 2024, Nii Ashirifi Ashong, the Amrahia Manklalo revealed that these officials whose names were not disclosed grabbed lands commonly referred to as Kweiman-Amrahia Modern Diary farms and called on all to intervene so this practice can be stopped immediately
It stated that the subject land forms part of a large tract of land covering an approximate area of 1,273,60 acres acquired by the state from the Kweiman, Danda and Amrahia families under an Executive Instrument sometime in 1970.
The families are urging the State to release the land documents to enable the families to protect their reversionary interest in the land and to ward off land guards, encroachers and trespassers whose presence on the land is affecting development.
They appeal to the Vice President, Dr Bawumia and Minister of Agriculture, Hon. Bryan Acheampong to intervene as soon as possible.
