ONUA SHOWTIME: ‘WOULD YOU BE HAPPY IF IT WAS YOU?’ – McBrown Questions Empress Gifty’s Last-Minute Absence

Over the weekend on Onua Showtime, Nana Ama McBrown was visibly disappointed after gospel musician Empress Gifty failed to appear as scheduled for the show. The popular TV host didn’t hold back her emotions as she questioned Empress Gifty’s sudden absence just minutes before the live broadcast.

In a segment just before the show continued, McBrown addressed the audience, explaining that Empress Gifty had been invited to the program, and promotional flyers had even circulated to inform the public of her appearance. However, only minutes before the show went live, McBrown’s team received a message stating that due to unforeseen circumstances, Empress Gifty could not attend.

Despite appreciating the fact that Empress Gifty called to inform them, McBrown expressed her frustration, stating, “At the last minute, Empress, you’re telling me you can’t make it to my show, while you have my direct phone number, WhatsApp, and everything.” The visibly upset host continued, “What could have happened that you allowed your producer to call my producer, instead of calling me directly?”

She added, “If I had done this to you, would you be happy?” before humorously but firmly stating that Empress Gifty must call her personally to explain, or else, “I won’t forgive you.”

The host’s comments reflect her strong professionalism and the personal connection she feels towards her guests, especially given the effort and planning that goes into producing a live show. McBrown’s candid response has since sparked discussions on social media about guest appearances and the etiquette surrounding last-minute cancellations in the entertainment industry.

Fans of Onua Showtime eagerly await Empress Gifty’s response to McBrown’s emotional appeal. Despite the hiccup, McBrown gracefully continued the show, ensuring the audience remained engaged throughout.

The friendly but serious tone of her remarks suggests that while McBrown values her friendships in the industry, she also expects mutual respect and accountability.
