The committee for Operation Recover All Loot (ORAL) has rejected claims made by the Minority Leader, Alexander Afenyo-Markin alleged that the team used drones to monitor his personal properties.
Afenyo-Markin, during a recent media interview, recognized the committee’s efforts but mentioned that he has opted to disregard them.
In response to the assertion, lawyer and ORAL committee member, Martin Kpebu characterized the descriptions as “absurd” and called on the public to ignore them.
“It is false. The ORAL committee has not sent any drones to spy on the Minority Leader’s properties—it is not true at all. Looking at the members of the team, you can hazard that the committee will not do something ridiculous like that, so let’s disregard it. We do not own any drones as a committee at all,”
Kpebu told Citi News.
He also dismissed assertions that the committee had covertly assigned extra members to function on its on their behalf.
“We do not have any members aside from the committee members working for us. Since it is a
democracy, claims like that are made for strategic reasons,” he added.
The ORAL committee, which has been diligently gathering information on purported financial misappropriations, asserts that its operations are carried out openly and within legal limits.
