OSCARS 2026: FULL LIST OF NOMINEES ANNOUNCED

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has announced the nominees for the 2026 Oscars, with Sinners dominating the field with an unprecedented 16 nominations, the highest in Oscar history.

The critically acclaimed drama earned nods for Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Original Screenplay, cementing its frontrunner status.

Following closely is One Battle After Another with 13 nominations, while Frankenstein, Marty Supreme, and Sentimental Value each secured nine. All five titles will compete for the Best Picture award, alongside Bugonia, F1, Hamnet, The Secret Agent, and Train Dreams.

Among the studios, Warner Bros. leads with 30 nominations boosted by Sinners and One Battle After Another followed by Neon with 18 (including The Secret Agent and Sentimental Value), and Netflix with 16 (including Frankenstein and Train Dreams).

Surprises and snubs marked this year’s nominations, with Wicked: For Good completely left out, while actors Delroy Lindo and Kate Hudson scored unexpected nominations.

This year’s ceremony also marks the debut of a new Oscars category Best Casting the first new addition since Best Animated Feature in 2002. The nominees in that category are Hamnet, Marty Supreme, One Battle After Another, The Secret Agent, and Sinners.

Actors Danielle Brooks and Lewis Pullman unveiled the nominations across 24 categories during a live presentation at the Academy’s Samuel Goldwyn Theater in Los Angeles.

The Academy has also introduced stricter voting rules, requiring members to confirm they have watched all nominated films before casting votes, with tracking now enabled through the members-only Academy Screening Room app.

The 2026 Oscars will be hosted by Conan O’Brien for the second consecutive year and broadcast live on ABC and Hulu from the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles on Sunday, March 15, starting at 4 p.m. PT.

Last year’s Best Picture winner, Anora, took home five awards, including Best Director (Sean Baker) and Best Actress (Mikey Madison), while Adrien Brody (The Brutalist), Zoe Saldaña (Emilia Pérez), and Kieran Culkin (A Real Pain) won in the lead and supporting acting categories.
