SONA 2025: PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES WILL ATTEND TERTIARY FOR FREE – Mahama Announces

President John Dramani Mahama has announced that higher education for individuals with disabilities (PWDs) will now be provided at no cost.

During the initial State of the Nations Address (SONA) of his second term, President Mahama announced that all individuals with disabilities in the nation will now be able to access higher education for free.

He declared the initiative as a component of his policy for free higher education for Level 100 students. Although every student will benefit from free access to the first year of university, those with disabilities will receive this policy throughout the full four years.

Mahama said: “I want to reiterate our commitment to ensuring that individuals with disabilities have access to free tertiary education and equal opportunities to pursue their academic and professional ambitions,”
