Glitz Africa CEO says her bid for Parliament is a response to a long-standing call to serve
Founder and CEO of Glitz Africa, Claudia Kwarteng Lumor, has revealed that her decision to seek political office was motivated by years of reflection, encouragement, and a deep personal conviction to serve.
Speaking on Starr Chat with Bola Ray on Thursday, January 22, 2026, Lumor said her resolve to enter frontline politics was strengthened by consistent encouragement from residents of the Oforikrom constituency, as well as spiritual leaders, mentors, and young people who believed she had more to contribute to public service.
“What pushed me to say that the time was right for me to serve the people is that I felt the calling had been there every year,” she said. “People kept talking to me about this.”
Lumor described the growing support from Oforikrom constituents as a defining factor in her decision to contest for Parliament.
“Sometimes people see things in us that we do not even see ourselves,” she noted, explaining that the persistent calls convinced her that the moment to act had come.
Reflecting on her journey, Lumor described her entry into politics as a “full circle moment,” adding that her experiences in business and leadership had shaped her for higher service.
“For me, there is a reason why God takes us through the journey that we go through,” she said. “If God has taken me through all of this, and I’ve built this much maturity, strength, and clarity, then I can serve my country.”
While Lumor is widely recognized for her advocacy on women’s empowerment, she emphasized that her commitment extends beyond gender issues, promising to serve all residents of Oforikrom.
“I want to represent not just women, but people the great people of Oforikrom,” she said, adding that her decision to run for office was both a responsibility and an opportunity she felt called to embrace.
