Photos: FEMALE CELEBS PLAY SOCCER FOR CHARITY

Female celebrities from Nigeria and Ghana came together to have fun and raise funds to supports less privileged people with kidney diseases.

It was a day of fun and games as female celebrities clashed at the Lizzy’s sports complex in East Legon, Accra for a charity match to raise money for the Juliet Ibrahim Foundation to support kidney patients.

The event had most Ghanaian and Nigerian celebrities at the stadium to help the charity event. Nana Ama Mcbrown, Jessica Opare Saforo, Moesha Boudoung, Pascaline Edwards, Victoria Michaels, Adina, DJ Kess, Juliet Ibrahim, Selly, Salma Mumin, Gloria Sarfo, Roselyn Ngissah and other female stars played for the Ghana team coached by Van Vicker.

Playing for the Nigerian side were Emma Nyra, Carolyna Hutchings, Peggy Ovire,Michelle Dede, Belinda Effah, Mary Lazerus, Lillian Afe, Halima Abubakar and others. Their technical team included Fred O Amata, Chris Okagbue and Kunle Remi.

Ghana’s goal was scored by Dj Kess while Nigeria’s equalizer came through Ghana-based Nigerian blogger/actress/TV host Chris Katta.

After Toosweet Annan refereed the first half, Nigerian’s Gbenro Ajibade who took over from him during the second half brought the football match to a halt after Nigerians scored their first goal. The charity match ended without a winner and according to Juliet Ibrahim, the return match will take place in Nigeria where the ultimate winner would be determined. The May 1, 2016 fixture ended 1:1.
