POLICE ANNOUNCE GH₵20K BOUNTY FOR OBUASI SUSPECTS OVER THREATS OF VIOLENCE DURING THE ELECTIONS

The Ghana Police Service is intensifying its efforts to find individuals who are wanted for threatening violence leading up to the December 7 General Elections.

The wanted individuals, including Fuseini Yahuza, Bernard Ahedor, Simon, Basit, and Agya Musah (Musa Yakubu), have eluded capture since being declared wanted on November 15, 2024.

In a statement released on November 23, the police announced, “A reward of Twenty Thousand Cedis (GH₵20,000.00) is being offered for any person who provides credible information leading to the arrest of the suspects.”

The police also made an appeal for public cooperation, stating, “We urge the public to support the ongoing operation in search of the suspects by providing information that could lead to their arrest.” To facilitate this, they shared a dedicated hotline, 0547927272, for anyone with relevant information.

This situation became widely known when a video spread on social media featuring the individuals, dressed in NDC gear, warning of potential chaos if their party doesn’t win the election.

Reassuring citizens, the police stated, “We urge the general public to remain calm since the Police are committed to ensuring that we live in peaceful, secure, and orderly communities.”
