POLICE ARREST TWO SUSPECTS IN VIRAL ASSAULT VIDEO

Two people have been detained by the Ghana Police Service in relation to a widely shared video that showed a lady abusing a man and caused indignation on social media.

Esther Nana Afia Sarfowaa, the initial suspect, was captured at Subriso in the Ashanti Region’s Ahafo Ano North Constituency. Stephen Ofori, a second suspect, was taken into custody at Nkawie due to his purported involvement in the incident.

While investigators continue to search for three other suspects who are still at large and are thought to have taken part in the assault, both are currently in police custody.

Police sources claim that the inquiry is still in progress and that they are examining the footage from the widely shared video in order to identify every person involved.

The police have called on members of the public with any information about the remaining suspects to come forward.

The viral video, which has generated widespread condemnation, shows the victim being physically assaulted in broad daylight, raising concerns about public safety and the prevalence of violent behaviour in communities.

Social media users have expressed outrage and demanded swift justice for the victim.

The police have assured that all legal procedures will be followed, and those found guilty will face the full force of the law.

Community leaders in the affected areas have also appealed for calm and urged citizens not to take the law into their own hands.
