Actress and businesswoman Fella Makafui has been asked by the Police to come in for reportedly selling medical items not approved by the Food and Drugs Authority (FDA).
The Pharmacy Council Ghana collaborated with investigative documentary filmmaking firm, ISPYGH 247, to help facilitate her arrest.
On May 22, 2024, she was taken into custody. She is also guilty of spreading unauthorized advertisements and false advertising as found by the Food and Drugs Authority (FDA).
Following six months of monitoring Fella’s social media posts on platforms like TikTok and Instagram, lead investigator Akwasi Koranteng and his team of undercover journalists from ISPYGH 247 collected evidence of her illegal activities.
After she was taken into custody, authorities seized a total of 16 items which included products such as Fertility Tea (Fibroid And Womb Tea), Butt And Hips Enlargement Syrup, Butt And Hip Enlargement Oil, Booty Cream, Booty Scrub, Hip And Big Butt Tea, and Breast Firming And Enlargement Cream.
Additional items seized from her store in Mempeasem included Vagina Detox Pearls, Male Sexual Vitality Tea, Spice Herbal Infection Mixture, Yoni Wash Gel, Orgasmic Gel, Weight Gain Syrup, Spice Coded Powder, Tiger Herbal Mixture, and Sweet Drip Honey.
In a released statement, investigators revealed that Fella confessed to selling mostly unregistered drugs with the FDA.
She was later released on bail while the investigation continues.
