PRESIDENT MAHAMA PROMOTES LOCAL TOURISM AS HE SPENDS CHRISTMAS HOLIDAYS WITH HIS WIFE AT CROWN FOREST RESORT IN THE CENTRAL REGION

President John Dramani Mahama and his wife, Lordina Mahama, spent the Christmas holiday at the newly developed Crown Forest Resort and Eco-Safari in Gomoa Nsuaem, located in Ghana’s Central Region, sharing highlights of their getaway on social media.

Posting on X, President Mahama described the destination as a “great eco-tourism destination,” noting that the couple enjoyed the serene natural environment over the festive period.

The visuals accompanying his post showed lush forest scenery, wildlife sightings and moments from their visit, reflecting the resort’s promise of an immersive nature experience.

Crown Forest Resort, part of an expansive eco-park project near Winneba, spans hundreds of acres of preserved forest and savannah and offers a range of experiences that connect visitors with Ghana’s natural heritage.

The development, designed to blend wildlife adventure with hospitality, includes guided game drives, forest trekking, fruit picking, and other outdoor activities, complemented by luxury lodge accommodations and environmental conservation initiatives.

The project is also notable for its commitment to resource-efficient design and sustainability, having achieved EDGE certification for its environmentally conscious features.

Local guides facilitate wildlife viewing and narrative tours, and the site incorporates a museum highlighting a historic slave route that runs through the forest, adding cultural depth to the tourism experience.

President Mahama’s holiday post highlights the growing appeal of eco-tourism in Ghana, with the Central Region already renowned for its rich tourism assets, including historic forts and natural attractions. Crown Forest Resort has emerged as one of the newest additions to the region’s tourism landscape, offering visitors a unique blend of luxury, culture and nature.

Mahama’s endorsement of the destination during the festive season may further boost interest in Ghana’s eco-tourism offerings, encouraging both domestic and international travellers to explore the country’s emerging nature
