Felix Kwakye Ofosu, the Minister of State for Government Communications, has rejected an accusation from the New Patriotic Party (NPP) that President John Dramani Mahama is scheming for a third term.
According to Felix Kwakye Ofosu, President Mahama is not interested in any third term.
Felix Kwakye Ofosu is quoted by UTV to have said, “President John Mahama has no intention of running for a third term”.
The NPP’s Justin Frimpong Kodua has alleged that the NDC and John Mahama are conspiring to oust Chief Justice Gertrude Araba Torkornoo to allow President John Dramani Mahama to run for a third presidential term.
He asserted that the discussion centres on Article 66(2) of the Constitution.
Justin Frimpong Kodua pointed out that certain people are reportedly intending to interpret Article 66(2) of the Constitution as meaning the two-term limit pertains solely to two consecutive terms.
