Rev. Obofuor, the founder and head of Anointed Palace Chapel (APC), has shared his perspective on the factors contributing to the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) loss in the 2024 general elections.
Addressing his congregation, he emphasized several factors, with pride and arrogance in politicians being the primary reason.
Rev. Obofuor condemned the actions of certain NPP members, asserting that Ghanaians are fed up with the arrogance shown, especially towards the younger generation.
“Pride and arrogance are part of the reason why they didn’t win. Ghanaians have been able to bring down the proud men in politics,” he remarked.
He also highlighted the NPP’s poor management of crucial matters like the Free Senior High School initiative.
Although the initiative received commendation, the subpar quality of food supplied through the program led to frustration for numerous individuals.
Moreover, he tackled the ongoing power cuts, commonly referred to as “dumsor,” which the NPP had condemned the former administration for but did not resolve while in office.
Rev. Obofuor also mentioned that numerous citizens had endured pain quietly for years but are now more vocal about their difficulties and discontent.
“The people were suffering but couldn’t voice it out. Why is it that all of a sudden everyone is happy to talk?” he asked, suggesting that this change in attitude reflects the growing frustration with the government.
He stated that the NPP’s inability to tackle these crucial matters, along with their apparent arrogance, resulted in a loss of the people’s trust.
