PRINCE DAVID OSEI FACES BACKLASH OVER SARCASTIC JAB AT MAHAMA’S GOVERNMENT
Ghanaian actor Prince David Osei has sparked controversy after making a sarcastic comment about President John Mahama’s administration on X (formerly Twitter). The actor, a known supporter of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), posted: “Ghana, how far? Are you enjoying the Mahama administration? I hear they are giving everyone milk and honey… 24/7 electricity and market women making outrageous sales?? Everybody go be okay kraa.”
The tweet, which appeared to mock the government’s performance, quickly drew backlash from social media users. Many criticized Osei, arguing that as a vocal supporter of the previous NPP administration, he was in no position to critique the current government. Critics pointed out that the NPP’s tenure also faced significant challenges, making his comments seem hypocritical.
In response to the backlash, Prince David Osei clarified that his remarks were meant to be humorous and not a serious critique. He followed up with another post, writing: “Just cracking a joke, come on guys, everything shouldn’t be uptight… I dey with you 🤣🤣🤣… Small humor I dey create then boys vex.. Before the end of February dier, dem go sack all our parents, uncles, aunties, sisters, and brothers in the public sector… I just love Ghana 🇬🇭. What happened to loving your neighbor as thyself?”
