The incident occurred on October 12, 2024, during celebrations marking the 25th birthday of the 16-year-old’s elder brother, Bonsu Prempeh. Linda Bonsu Bempah, who worked closely with Bonsu Prempeh, handed over the keys to Mouha Amoako’s Jaguar F-Pace Sport SUV (registration number GN 7801-20) to the 16-year-old. Despite knowing the boy was underage and without a valid driver’s license, Bonsu Prempeh permitted him to take the vehicle.
The minor, along with a friend named Prince Tijani, drove the SUV towards the Bawaleshie area on Dzanie Ashie Street. Unfortunately, while navigating a section of the road near the Mensa Wood Avenue junction, the 16-year-old lost control of the vehicle, crashing into the rear of an Acura 4×4 with registration number GR 2542-23.
The impact caused both vehicles to veer off the road and collide with the fence wall of a nearby house, resulting in a devastating fire that consumed both cars. Tragically, two 12-year-old passengers in the Acura, Justine Agbenu and Maame Dwomoh Boateng, were trapped and perished in the blaze.
The 16-year-old driver, along with other injured passengers, is currently receiving treatment at the University of Ghana Medical Center. The prosecution revealed that both Prophet Amoako and his wife admitted during investigations that they had previously allowed their son to drive the vehicle to various locations, including a local gym, despite his lack of a license.
