Ghanaian hip-hop recording artist and performer, YPee born Andy Agyemang revealed that rap music is not profitable now.
YPee states that the income from rap music has decreased, causing many rappers to switch from making full albums to releasing singles.
YPee stated that the time when rap music was profitable is no longer here, noting that Sarkodie, Ghana’s top rapper, has successful songs that are not rap but are danceable.
“Those days when Sarkodie started rap is different from now. Check Sarkodie’s biggest and hit songs like Adonai, You Go Kill and others are not rap songs but they did so well in the music market because they are commercial tunes and danceable tracks”. He revealed.
“The rap music is not profitable like it used to be. Sarkodie and others have taken all the cash”, YPee said amid laughter.
