
Retired Justice of the Supreme Court of Ghana Nasiru Sulemana Gbadegbe has passed on at the age of 74.
Reports indicate that the unfortunate incident occurred on Saturday, April 5, 2025, after a short illness.
He joined the Supreme Court in 2009 and served till 8th December 2020, when he attained the retirement age of 70.
Prior to his time at the Supreme Court, he was a Justice of Appeal between 1999 and 2009.
Justice Gbadegbe was one of nine judges who handled Ghana’s 2012/2013 election petition.
His colleagues who served with him on the bench describe him as a stickler for procedure and one who believed lawyers and practitioners must stick to ethical standards all the time.
