Citinewsroom has shared that Richard Nii Armah Quaye, a businessman and entrepreneur from Ghana, has over a million Ghanaian cedis in unpaid income taxes.
This situation has caused his recent troubles with financial authorities.
The Financial Intelligence Center (FIC) has taken action by freezing Richard Quaye’s personal bank accounts. Accounts of his businesses, Quick Credit and Bills MicroFinance, have also been frozen.
In addition, the accounts of his company’s CEO, Rome-Richlove Seshie, are frozen too.
The root of these issues lies in income tax disputes with the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA), as reported by CitiNewsroom. Last weekend, following Quaye’s highly publicized birthday party, news came out that the GRA had frozen all his accounts.
According to the GRA, Quaye is under a ‘personal income tax’ review related to over 30 million Ghanaian cedis of unpaid taxes.
Richard Quaye became famous in Ghana after he bought a $3 million Bugatti Chiron and a private jet worth tens of millions of dollars just before his 40th birthday.
He celebrated with a huge party, attended by celebrities and wealthy individuals such as Osei Kwame Despite, Davido, Joselyn Dumas, and Ramsey Nouah, among others.
