RUNNING MATE FOR MOVEMENT FOR CHANGE, KWAME OWUSU DANSO, REVEALS HIS EARLY INFLUENCE ON STONEBWOY’S MUSICAL JOURNEY

In an exclusive interview with Nkonkonsa.com, Kwame Owusu Danso, newly appointed Vice Presidential candidate for the Movement for Change, shared insights about his early interactions with Ghanaian dancehall sensation Stonebwoy and his significant role in the artist’s career development.

Kwame shared that he first met Stonebwoy years ago at Adom FM in Tema, where he was captivated by the young artist’s impressive voice during a “Kasahare” rap session. He described Stonebwoy as a humble individual, contrary to the public perception of arrogance. “Stonebwoy is a stammerer, and sometimes stammerers express their emotions through gestures. If you’re not careful, you may mistake his expression for arrogance, but it’s just him being real and speaking his mind,” Kwame explained.

Recounting their initial conversation, Kwame revealed that Stonebwoy had sought his assistance during a period when both were struggling musicians. Although Kwame acknowledged that he couldn’t offer much direct help due to the differences in their musical styles, he encouraged Stonebwoy to seek mentorship from dancehall icon Samini.

“I told Stonebwoy, ‘You have incredible talent, but you should connect with Samini.’ He had already tried a few times, but I encouraged him to keep pushing, even if it meant sleeping at Samini’s house to get his attention,” Kwame shared.

The next time the two reconnected, Stonebwoy had just released a hit song with Samini, marking a significant milestone in his career. “I was so proud of him. At the very least, I can say I contributed a small piece of advice that helped him take the next step toward success,” Kwame added.

This revelation underscores Kwame’s pivotal role in supporting Stonebwoy’s early career, laying the foundation for his eventual ascent in the music industry.
