SALIFU AMOAKO’S SON HAS BEEN DISCHARGED, BUT HE IS NOT FIT FOR INTERROGATION – University of Ghana Medical Center

In recent developments, Erald Salifu Amoako, son of prominent figure Salifu Amoako, has been discharged from the University of Ghana Medical Center (UGMC) following treatment for severe injuries sustained in a traumatic accident. Despite being discharged on October 28, 2024, medical professionals report that he is still not in a condition to undergo police interrogation.

According to the medical report issued by Dr. Fred Salawu, an orthopedic and trauma specialist at UGMC, Erald was admitted on October 12, 2024, with an open right ankle dislocation and facial lacerations after an accident. He had initially been referred from Legon Hospital and required immediate and extensive care from both plastic and orthopedic surgeons due to the severity of his injuries.

The report details that Erald experienced a brief period of unconsciousness upon arrival. Surgical procedures included debridement, right ankle external fixation, and a flap cover on October 14. Findings at the surgery confirmed an open right ankle joint dislocation with an unstable joint (Gastillo III B) and ligament tears. Later, on October 21, he underwent split-skin grafting for his post-traumatic ulcer and is now mobilizing on a non-weight-bearing basis on his right leg.

Although he has shown improvement and was discharged to continue recovery on an outpatient basis, Dr. Salawu’s report emphasizes that Erald remains unfit for any police interrogation. UGMC has committed to keeping the relevant authorities updated on his progress as his treatment continues.
