SAMSON DEEN RETAINS NSA BOARD ROLE IN MAHAMA REAPPOINTMENT
Veteran sports administrator and African Paralympic chief reaffirmed to guide Ghana’s sports policy.

President John Dramani Mahama has reappointed sports administrator Samson Deen as a member of the Governing Board of the National Sports Authority (NSA).
The appointment, communicated through the Ministry of Sports and Recreation, signals continued confidence in Deen’s experience and contributions to sports governance in Ghana and across Africa.
Deen currently serves as President of both the African Paralympic Committee and the Ghana Paralympic Committee, where he has been recognized for advancing athlete welfare, inclusion, and the visibility of para-sports on the continent.
In response to the reappointment, Deen thanked the President for the trust placed in him and reaffirmed his commitment to sports development, youth empowerment, and good governance in the sector.
The NSA Board is responsible for providing strategic direction, approving budgets, and guiding policy implementation across Ghana’s sports programs.
Deen’s reappointment comes at a time when Ghana is focused on strengthening sports infrastructure and improving international competitiveness. His dual role in national and continental sports leadership is expected to support efforts to leverage sports for social cohesion and youth development.
