Kumawood actor Big Akwes has sparked debate with his assertive comments regarding the significance of money in relationships, asserting that it’s a “shame” for a man not to purchase a Valentine’s Day gift for his significant other.
In a discussion on Max TV, Big Akwes responded to a query from a male viewer who wanted to know what to do if he couldn’t pay for a Valentine’s gift for his girlfriend.
The actor’s response was direct:“You have to put some money down and get something nice for your girlfriend. If you can’t afford a gift for Valentine’s, why is she still with you? Sell your phone and buy something for your partner”
Big Akwes emphasized the significance of financial stability in relationships, asserting that emotional and physical closeness alone cannot maintain a healthy partnership.
He went on to say: “She should run away from the relationship. It is a disgrace for you not to be able to afford even a bar of chocolate for your girlfriend. It is a big insult.”
The actor shared a message for women, suggesting they should be wary if their partners neglect to purchase gifts for Valentine’s Day. Nonetheless, he urged women to return the favor by giving gifts to their partners
“If your boyfriend can’t buy anything for you, leave the relationship. But if he does, you should also be able to get something for him — a watch or something will be okay”, he concluded
