Head-on collision between bus and stalled trailer claims multiple lives; dozen others critically injured in Ashanti Region crash.

A devastating head-on collision on the Offinso-Abofuor Highway has claimed seven lives and left a dozen others critically injured in the early hours of Wednesday, January 7.
According to eyewitness accounts, the fatal crash occurred between the Samproso and Awisam communities when a commercial bus with registration GT 5509-20, traveling from Techiman to Kumasi, collided with a stationary cement-laden trailer, registration GN 5326-22.
Eyewitness Kwadwo Obeng Mireku told Adom News that the trailer had stalled on the road after experiencing engine failure when the oncoming bus, reportedly traveling at high speed, struck it directly.
“Six people died at the scene, while others were critically injured,” Mireku recounted, noting that a seventh victim succumbed to injuries after being transported to the hospital.
The deceased and injured were taken to St. Patrick Hospital at Offinso Maase for emergency treatment and mortuary services. Police have cleared the accident scene and launched a full investigation into the circumstances surrounding the tragic collision.
