In an interview with Abanema Abayaa on Ghanaweb’s Talkertainment, Ghanaian dancehall musician Michael Okine, better known as Jupitar, talked about how some activities in the music industry hinder the growth of the industry.
“Occasionally, when I submit my work to our award schemes, it is rejected. My perspective does not come from last year or two years ago. There is a root to it that dates back to when it first began ten years ago, and you are doing a good job. However, there are a few people who are adamant that no matter how good you are, how excellent you are, or what you are doing, they don’t care.
“No matter how well you perform or play or how well your team works together, they will sideline you, and this is one of the main things that is ruining our music business,” he stated.
“It’s time to step up our game and establish ourselves as a globally competitive industry,” he continued.
