The Moderator of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, Rt. Rev. Dr. Abraham Nana Opare Kwakye, has called on President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to enact the Human Sexual Rights and Family Values Bill, commonly referred to as the anti-gay bill, into legislation before his term ends.
Addressing the launch of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana’s Bicentennial Anniversary on December 22, 2024, at Osu Castle, Dr. Kwakye emphasized the significance of the legislation and urged the President to enhance his legacy by endorsing it.
In his address, Dr. Kwakye said, “The Human Sexual Rights and Family Values Bill, for us Presbyterians, having given the bill our support during my predecessor’s tenure, is seen as our birthday gift for this year. Your Excellency, make our joy complete. We are confident that in these last days, you will assent to the bill and make it law in Ghana.”
