Musician Sista Afia has opened up about the origins of her long-standing feud with socialite Efia Odo, linking it to an incident that followed her performance with Shatta Wale in London years ago.
Speaking on the Girls Aloud podcast, Sista Afia recalled how Efia Odo took to Snapchat after the performance, sharing a picture of her and fellow musician Eno Barony. Efia reportedly circled Sista Afia in the photo and questioned, “Are there stylists in Ghana?”
“I performed with Shatta Wale in London, and after the show, she posted a picture of me and Eno Barony on her Snapchat. She circled me and asked if we have stylists in Ghana. It wasn’t really about my dress; it was about my performance with Shatta Wale,” she explained.
Sista Afia revealed that she confronted Shatta Wale about the post, as she believed Efia Odo’s actions were motivated by jealousy over the performance. “I confronted Shatta Wale about his girl, and he told me not to mind her. That’s where the whole thing started. I was so upset I almost beat her,” she admitted.
Despite the heated history, Sista Afia insists she doesn’t take online antics to heart. She even extended an apology for her own actions, particularly for calling Efia Odo an “industry machine,” a remark she now regrets.
The singer’s candid revelations have shed light on the rocky relationship between the two entertainers, sparking conversations about the pressures of the entertainment industry and the need for mutual respect among its players.
