Award-winning Ghanaian artist Samuel Adu Frimpong, also known as Medikal, has disclosed how his ex-fiancée Sister Deborah was astonished when he phoned her for the first time for a feature following their breakup.
Sister Deborah is a featured artist on Medikal’s most recent hit, Cold and Trophies.
Several Ghanaians were surprised by the inclusion because they did not anticipate the two ex-lovers writing a song together after their romance ended.
However, Medikal revealed in a Kingdom FM interview that he had no idea who he intended to feature in the song before recording it.
However, as he was working on the track, he decided to include Sister Deborah since he thought the song deserved her vibe.
When asked whether it was difficult to get her to feature he said “I’m not at loggerheads with her. We dated and things did not work out but that does not mean we have problems. When I called her for the first time after a long while, she was shocked I called. She then asked for the song, listened to it and sent her verse over to me”.
On whether his wife had a challenge with him recording with his ex, Medikal said “my wife was cool with the decision. It’s business and therefore we need to treat things without emotions, she was cool”.
