Ghanaian actress and fashion entrepreneur Salma Mumin has recently expressed her sentiments on the difficulties of being called a “slay queen”— a label that has, at times, adversely affected her personal and career life.
In a recent interview with Nana Romeo on Accra FM, Salma Mumin disclosed that this stereotype caused some of her colleagues to be reluctant to work with her.
She also revealed how she landed a job, and when one of her colleages discovered she was part of the project, that individual chose to withdraw.
Salma conveyed her feelings of sadness and depression following that encounter. This caused her to think if people disliked her due to the ‘slay queen’ label.
“Being tagged as a slay queen had a negative impact on me to the extent that some of my colleagues felt shy to work with me,” she admitted.
