ST. AUGUSTINE COLLEGE DISMISSES FOOD SHORTAGE ALLEGATIONS BY CHASS

The administration of St. Augustine’s College in Cape Coast has refuted allegations of food scarcity, labelling them as baseless and deceptive.

The Headmaster, Rev. Fr., released a statement on November 23, 2024. Patrick-Godfred Appiah confirmed that the school is well-equipped and able to cater to the students’ dietary requirements.

Speaking about the reports, Fr. Appiah emphasized that the school regularly receives food supplies, and recent deliveries from the National Buffer Stock Company have helped keep their warehouses well-stocked.

“These claims that students are not being fed properly due to a lack of food are both unfounded and untrue,” he said, emphasizing that the school has taken deliberate steps to avoid such challenges.

He also praised the kitchen staff’s hard work in preparing meals for students during the recent strike by TEWU. Their commitment made sure that students’ meals continued without interruption despite the difficulties caused by the strike.

Furthermore, the principal thanked the Central Regional Director of Education for visiting the school and inspiring the Matron and her team. Father. Appiah recognized the crucial assistance from the government through the Free SHS policy, which has been key in ensuring effective operations.

“We are grateful for the support we have received so far and remain committed to ensuring transparency,” he affirmed.

He also urged stakeholders and concerned parties to come to the school for a first-hand experience, promoting open communication to clarify any misunderstandings about the food situation.
