Afrobeats star Davido feels he’s faced more online trolling and disrespect than any other Nigerian artist.
He discussed his journey in the music industry, explaining that his father’s wealth has made him a frequent target for criticism. Despite his success, people often focus on his privileged background rather than his talents.
“In the history of Nigeria, I think I’m the most bashed and disrespected artiste. In Nigeria, if you’re the son of a successful man, you gonna get it,” he said.
Davido also noted that the artists he supports, known as his signees, also have to deal with internet trolls.
He consistently advises them to ignore negative comments and keep their focus on their music careers.
