“I FINALLY ‘SEE’ YOU HAPPY”: Kofi Adomah’s Emotional Message Resonates Amid Recovery From Eye Injury

Ghanaian journalist Kofi Adomah Nwanwani has touched hearts with a poignant message shared on social media, stating, “I finally ‘see’ you happy and it gives me joy, my love. #Mawuli.” This declaration carries profound significance, considering his recent ordeal with a severe eye injury that left him partially blind.

In December 2024, while covering the Kwafie Festival in Dormaa, Bono Region, Adomah was accidentally struck in the face by gunpowder from a musket fired during the event. The incident caused extensive damage to one of his eyes, resulting in complete vision loss in that eye and blurred vision in the other

Following initial treatment in Ghana, Adomah was flown to Dubai for specialized medical care, supported by a $115,000 donation from businessman Ibrahim Mahama. After multiple surgeries, he returned to Ghana in March 2025 and has since been on a challenging path to recovery.

The recent message, referencing “Mawuli” an Ewe name meaning “There is a God” has been interpreted by many as a testament to his gratitude and renewed hope. His wife, Miracle Adoma, also shared a video celebrating his progress, further emphasizing the couple’s faith and resilience during this trying period.

Adomah’s journey has not only highlighted the risks journalists face but also inspired many with his unwavering spirit and determination to overcome adversity.
