I HAVE NO POLITICAL AMBITIONS – Richard Nii Armah Quaye Declares

Ghanaian billionaire and well-known business leader, Richard Nii Armah Quaye, has declared his retirement from active business management, explicitly stating that he has no political aspirations.

He states that his sole wish is for Ghana to thrive financially. Mr. Quaye expressed these comments during the ceremony for his retirement announcement, which took place on Monday, 28 April, at the Alisa Hotel in Accra.

In his speech, he strongly rejected any rumours regarding a political career, stating that his attention after retirement will be on fostering entrepreneurship among the youth of Ghana.

“My only aspiration is to see us thrive economically as a nation. I have no political ambitions whatsoever, as may be speculated. These actions will create many businesses that will support and sustain our nation’s economic growth” he indicated.
In announcing his official retirement from all firms where he formerly held the position of CEO or Board Chairman—both domestically and internationally—Mr. Quaye expressed his plan to spearhead a new vision focused on economic transformation.
“As I begin my retirement from all my businesses in Ghana and other countries as CEO or Board Chairman, I want to focus my time and energy on leading this vision of bringing together young people with financial resources and those with exceptional skills and early-stage businesses, to trigger the economic revolution that will make our nation great and strong” he stated.
In a forthright message to the youth of Ghana, Mr. Quaye encouraged them to rise above assigning blame and to take charge of crafting their own futures.
“As young people, let us not sit back and always complain and criticise our political leaders for failing to bring opportunities to us. This approach will lead us nowhere, and we will be complaining forever. Rather, let us rise up, take the bull by the horns, and create the opportunities for ourselves and for future generation,ns” he added.
