ABRONYE ARRESTED; BONO NPP CHAIRMAN TO BE ARRAIGNED FOR OFFENSIVE CONDUCT

Kwame Baffoe, also known as Abronye, has been taken into custody by the Ghana Police Service on suspicion of engaging in provocative behavior that could lead to a breach of the peace.

The police stated in a statement released on Monday, September 8, 2025, that the vocal Bono Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) had been arrested earlier in the day and was being imprisoned at this time.

“He is currently in custody and will be put before Court,” the statement said.

The action was taken at a time when Mr. Baffoe had garnered a lot of public attention due to his divisive remarks in the media and on television broadcasts, even if the police did not specify the precise behavior that led to the arrest.

In the next several days, he is expected to be arraigned in court.
