The First Deputy Minority Whip, Habib Iddrisu has called on John Dumelo, the Deputy Minister-designate for Food and Agriculture, to dedicate himself completely to his new position and focus on supporting his Minister.

During his address to Parliament’s Appointments Committee on Tuesday, February 25, Iddrisu highlighted the significant nature of Dumelo’s duties and warned him to avoid taking a laid-back approach to his political ambitions.

“If you go to the Ministry, try to assist your Minister. The Ministry is huge, and you should not try to jump the gun,” Iddrisu advised, highlighting the complexity of the agricultural sector and the need for teamwork.

He also reminded Dumelo that his new role demanded a higher level of commitment and professionalism than his prior career in the entertainment field.

“And also note that when you go to the Ministry, you are not in your movie industry as you are. Try to be as serious as you can so that you can be able to assist your Minister to succeed,” Iddrisu stated.
