THE UK GOVERNMENT IS CONSIDERING BANNING SOCIAL MEDIA PLATFORM, X

Social media platform X could face a UK ban after its AI tool Grok was used to generate sexualised images of women and children.
Keir Starmer called the images “unlawful” and “disgusting, warning that the government is ready to act if the content is not removed. He confirmed Ofcom has full backing to intervene, adding that “all options are on the table”.
The backlash has been global, with Grok repeatedly used to create non-consensual undressed images of people.
Under pressure, X — owned by Elon Musk — has restricted Grok’s image editing feature to paying subscribers only, making users identifiable through payment details.
Regulators are now assessing whether further action against the platform is necessary.
