THERE IS NO ROOM FOR RIVALRIES IN THE GOSPEL FRATERNITY – Joe Mettle

Ghanaian gospel singer Joe Mettle emphasized that rivalries have no place in the gospel music community. He believes that since gospel artists share the common goal of worshipping the same God, there should be no room for conflicts or disputes, commonly known as “beefs.”

During an interview with Caroline Sampson on Asaase Café, Mettle expressed his perspective: “Are there beefs in the gospel industry? I’m not sure there are any. In the gospel [music] industry, we are serving the same Lord; it’s just that He gives diverse gifts unto us where, together, we bring it to honor Him. So, if we are both honoring and serving the same master, why are we beefing?”

He further explained, “We are serving the same body. You may be the hand, someone else will be the legs, and together we make the same kingdom and bring glory to God. So, why do I have to beef with you? There is no need for that.”

Mettle highlighted his approach to handling negativity and challenges within the industry, stating, “When the negativity comes, I identify the God factor in it, and when I do it works together for my good. By God’s grace, I have achieved certain feats based on negativity that came but I didn’t allow it to get to me. I don’t waste my pain, and I don’t waste my challenges; I utilize them for good.”
