THERE’S NO INJUNCTION ON DADDY LUMBA’S CELEBRATION OF LIFE – Ernestina Fosu Clarifies
Ernestina Fosuh dismisses claims of a court injunction halting the planned March celebration, while revealing she was denied access to view her late brother’s body before burial.

The family of the late highlife icon Charles Kwadwo Fosu, popularly known as Daddy Lumba, has dismissed reports suggesting that an injunction has halted plans for his upcoming Celebration of Life event in Accra.
In a press statement dated February 15, 2026, Ernestina Fosu, elder sister of the late musician, addressed what she described as “painful rumours” circulating on social media regarding the planned memorial event.
According to her, claims that the Celebration of Life has been stopped due to a possible court injunction are false.
“We wish to state clearly and unequivocally that this is false. There is no injunction stopping the event. The Celebration of Life of Daddy Lumba will proceed as planned,” she stated.
The event is scheduled to take place on March 28 and 29, 2026, in Accra.
Ernestina Fosu also used the opportunity to address another rumour, which she described as deeply hurtful. She denied allegations that she failed to visit her late brother after his passing.
She disclosed that she personally went to the Transition Funeral Home at Haatso, accompanied by her lawyer and four others, in an attempt to see her brother’s body. However, she was allegedly denied access.
“The manager of the funeral home informed us that the Abusuapanin had instructed them not to allow me to see him,” she explained, describing the experience as traumatic.
She revealed that she sought legal intervention at the High Court in Accra in hopes of being granted access, and although an injunction was initially granted, it was revoked shortly after. She described that day as one of the most painful moments of her life.
Despite the challenges, Ernestina Fosu maintained that the family remains determined to honour Daddy Lumba’s legacy with a dignified memorial.
She further announced that Nana Yaw Akosah, popularly known as Papa Shee, has been granted full power of attorney to coordinate arrangements for the Celebration of Life on behalf of the family in Ghana, as several family members reside in Germany and other countries.
She also appealed to the public to refrain from insults and harsh commentary, particularly on social media, urging respect for grieving family members.
“Let us allow the law to take its course with dignity and respect,” she stated, adding that the German authorities have recognised Mrs Akosua Serwaa Fosu as the lawful wife of the late musician.
Ernestina Fosu concluded by thanking supporters for their love and prayers, asking the public to disregard misinformation and join the family in celebrating the enduring legacy of one of Ghana’s greatest musical legends.
