Kwesi Pratt Jr., the Managing Editor of the Insight Newspaper, has noted that certain members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) who once praised Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia are now holding him responsible for the NPP’s loss in the 2024 elections.
Speaking in an interview on Peace FM’s Kokrokoo on April 15, 2025, Kwesi Pratt stated, “The last time I listened to our sister Adwoa Safo, she was saying that no matter what, Dr Bawumia will lead the party. But I have also heard from the other side that no matter what, our brother Kennedy Ohene Agyapong will lead the party, and they are working assiduously towards that.
“Boakye Agyarko has also stated that the party can only improve if it returns to its core values.
“Now, this guy (Owusu-Bempah) has stated that the election defeat should be blamed on Bawumia, rejecting him as the flagbearer,” he said.
Kwesi Pratt continued, “The party knows the reasons behind their loss and how to regain power. But my concern is that the same people who were supporting Bawumia and praising his qualities are now criticizing him. They were singing Hosanna for him, but now look at what is happening”.
