Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky was in an car accident, according to his spokesman.
In the Ukrainian city of Kyiv, a passenger automobile collided with the presidential vehicle and his escort, according to a brief statement from Spokesman Sergii Nykyforov.
Police are looking into the accident, and the driver of the car that struck the procession was treated on the spot and taken away in an ambulance.
“The president was examined by a doctor, no serious injuries were found,” he said.
An important logistical hub in northeastern Ukraine’s reclaimed city of Izyum was the location of President Zelensky’s Wednesday visit.
He oversaw a flag-raising ceremony and expressed gratitude to the soldiers who took part in the quick counterattack against the Russian occupation.
