USE LEGAL POWER – ECG Begs Ghanaians Using Illegal Connections Over System Failure

Samuel Dubik Mahama, the managing director of Ghana’s energy business (ECG), has called on the people of Ghana to resume using electricity legally.

The ECG boss claimed that he was aware that some Ghanaians had connected power illegally as a result of the system difficulty. He revealed that the system’s problems have been fixed.

Due to their inability to buy power for their prepaid devices, some Ghanaians have had their electricity switched off at home.

The majority of people have criticized the ECG for being unable to buy power for more than a week, which forced some people to sleep in the dark.

Samuel Mahama revealed that the problems had been rectified when addressing the issues in a brief news conference.

“We know that during the past week, some people tapped the power illegally. We are pleading with you people to call those who did the illegal for you so that they come and revert it because we have worked on our systems,” he said.

He also confessed that some people had hired electricians to illegally access power during the crisis.

Mr. Mahama added that task groups will be dispatched to homes and workplaces to look for illicit connections.
