VETERAN ACTOR ALBERT JACKSON-DAVIS TO BE LAID TO REST TOMORROW

The final funeral rites for renowned Ghanaian actor Albert Odartei Jackson-Davis will take place on Friday, January 24, 2025, marking the farewell to a celebrated figure in Ghanaian film and theater.

The actor’s body will lie in state on Thursday, January 23, 2025, at 6 p.m. at his family residence in James Town, near Mantse Agbonaa. This will provide an opportunity for family, friends, and admirers to pay their last respects.

A burial service is scheduled for Friday, January 24, 2025, at the Cathedral Church of The Most Holy Trinity on John Atta Mills High Street in Accra. Following the service, there will be a private burial.

Albert Jackson-Davis passed away in September 2024 after battling an undisclosed illness. He was celebrated for his captivating performances in films such as Heritage Africa, The Storm, and My Very Ghanaian Wedding.

In addition to his acting career, Jackson-Davis served as the Deputy Executive Director of PANAFEST, the Pan African Historical Theatre Festival, in the 1990s, contributing significantly to the promotion of African arts and culture.

The late actor’s legacy remains firmly etched in the hearts of Ghanaians as a pioneer in the entertainment industry and a staunch advocate for the preservation of African history and heritage.
