Sarkodie has make touching revelation about his past and how he grew up as a child.
In spite of the successes and fame chalked by the “Illuminati” Rapper, his recent songs or features in the past few years have been about his haters, enemies and the hard times he went through growing up.
“Basically I was really in a dark place and when you are in a dark place those are the thoughts that you likely to have”. He said growing up as a child when he going through hard times he did not see the purpose of living anymore.
The ‘mewu’ hitmaker claims his recent lyrics is as result of coming “from a place where there was no love.” and that he needs to detox himself to get out of that mindset.
“The thing is I came from a place where there was no love so you can’t blame me for still having that in me. I need to detox myself more and get out of that but I’m still in that… Though I’m Sarkodie now I went through that life for ages.” He told Nayoka Oware on The Journey show.
He adds: “But then it sells too because when i do songs like chingam, even Adonai. I’m talking about the hustle and everything. people relate because that is the reality for you.”
