VOTE-BUYING ALLEGATIONS: REFER AYAWASO EAST INCIDENT TO OSP — Mussa Dankwah Urges President Mahama

The fallout from the National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary primary in Ayawaso East has taken another turn, with Mussa Dankwah, the Executive Director of Global InfoAnalytics, calling for the immediate intervention of the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP).

The prominent pollster stated in a Facebook post following the polls on Saturday, February 7, 2026, that the government’s accountability agenda’s credibility depends on how it responds to the corruption claims that clouded Saturday’s vote.

Baba Jamal received 431 votes, or 45%, to win the primary. In a battle tainted by accusations of vote-buying, his nearest opponent, Hajia Amina Adam, received 399 votes, or 41%.

Mr. Dankwah maintains that administrative penalties are not enough to address what he calls illegal meddling in the political process.

“The president must refer what happened in the Ayawaso East to the OSP if we are to take the reset agenda seriously,” Mr Dankwah posted on Facebook, sparking a firestorm of debate regarding the legal consequences for those involved.
