One of Ghana’s Highlife living legends, Papa Yankson put the Banquet Hall into an emotional state when he took the stage to entertain patrons at maiden edition of Exclusive Men of The Year Awards.

After MCs for the night, Naa Ashorkor and Nathaniel Attoh introduced him on stage most people in the audience were expecting him to appear on his feet and perform with his usual style of dancing, but the “Okukuseku” Singer emerged from the crowd in a wheelchair and stayed in the wheelchair throughout his performance.

Most people who didn’t know he was sick thought the wheelchair was just part of his stage craft, until he was seemingly struggling to push the wheelchair to move around during his performance. This broke the heart of those who were not aware of his ill-health, yet he touched the hearts of everybody in the auditorium with his great voice, in spite of the fact that he was confined in a wheelchair.

He put together an exciting performance which had many up and dancing before the ultimate award was announced.
