Finance Minister Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson confirmed that the government is committed to following the rules of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) program. They are working hard to resolve Ghana’s debt issues.
He admitted that Ghana previously missed some goals under the IMF program but assured that they are now making efforts to get back on track.
He highlighted the progress made in talks with foreign lenders about changing the debt situation.
The main focus is now on completing agreements with each country, which is an important step to stabilize the economy.
Dr. Forson also urged Germany to help Ghana speed up the debt change process. He emphasized that finalizing these agreements is crucial for Ghana’s economic recovery.
“We have taken concrete steps to correct the structural benchmarks that were missed under the previous government, and the results will soon be evident,” Dr. Forson stated.
