Gospel music group, Alabaster Box, has stated that its legal battle with rapper Medikal is still pending in court, after failed efforts to settle the issue privately.
During an interview on Hitz FM, monitored by myjoyonline, the group mentioned that their legal team is actively working on the case after all attempts to achieve an amicable resolution outside of court proved unsuccessful.
The group noted that early efforts included discussions via intermediaries with the aim of settling the conflict professionally. Both sides had consented to include impartial representatives, but the process fell apart when legal advisors were brought in.
“Our intention was never to escalate tensions but to reach a fair resolution through mutual understanding,” they said. “The first thing we did was call his people, and they brought in a middle person. We also brought our middle person, who happened to be a lawyer, and they ran away from that prospect. Even when we brought in the lawyer, it wasn’t like we were going to squeeze them. We were hoping to settle this properly.”
Alabaster Box additionally disclosed that the court authorized substitute service after efforts to serve Medikal with legal documents formally were unsuccessful.
This enabled the legal notice to be delivered via alternative means, such as public postings and online platforms, following court protocols.
The group stated that the issue is now fully in the control of the judiciary, with any possible out-of-court resolution needing court oversight.
Alabaster Box expressed regret that initial attempts at conversation did not produce results, even though they approached the matter with professionalism and maturity.
They are assured that justice will eventually prevail. As of the filing of this report, neither Medikal nor his team had publicly addressed the group’s recent remarks
