Former Gender and Social Protection Minister, Sara Adwoa Safo expressed that the government under Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo treated Ghanaian citizens unfairly.
She noted that many party members often raised concerns about various challenges, but instead of being heard, they were labeled as enemies and faced repercussions.
Adwoa Safo suggested that if the government had been more receptive and not punished those who spoke up, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) might have remained in power after the 2024 elections.
She also believes that Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia should not be blamed for the NPP’s defeat. According to her, it was due to circumstances beyond his control.
“We know the bad treatment we gave to Ghanaians as a party. People were talking, and they were not listening. MPs complained, and their constituencies were targeted, and they were removed because they were against the government, but they were speaking the truth,” she stated on Accra-based Asempa FM.
