NPP LOST THE 2024 ELECTIONS SPIRITUALLY – NPP General Secretary, Justin Frimpong-Kodua

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has attributed its resounding defeat in the December 2024 general elections to spiritual influences. According to the party’s General Secretary, Justin Frimpong Kodua, mysterious occurrences on election day suggest that the outcome was shaped by forces beyond the physical realm.

Speaking in an interview with Ashh FM, Kodua expressed bewilderment over the unusually low voter turnout among NPP supporters nationwide, a phenomenon he believes cannot be explained by conventional political analysis.

“It was as though our members decided not to vote,” he lamented. “Across all sixteen regions, it seemed as if NPP supporters had reached an unspoken agreement not to cast their votes. This is highly unusual and goes beyond the typical political challenges we face.”

Kodua also revealed that some pastors who traditionally offered spiritual support to the party had withdrawn their backing due to internal disputes and frustration within the NPP.

“I appeal to the pastors who intercede for us,” he said. “Ahead of the 2024 elections, there were significant spiritual machinations. Many pastors and prayer warriors, who should have been standing in the gap for us, withheld their support out of anger. This, in my view, greatly influenced the results.”

One prominent figure Kodua referenced was Rev. Owusu Bempah, a renowned prophet and former NPP supporter, who had earlier prophesied the party’s defeat. Rev. Bempah boldly claimed that spiritual forces would play a decisive role in ensuring the NPP’s loss, a prediction that ultimately came to pass.

The Electoral Commission’s official results, announced on December 9, 2024, confirmed a sweeping victory for NDC flagbearer John Dramani Mahama, who garnered 6,328,397 votes (56.55%) against Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia of the NPP, who received 4,657,304 votes (41.61%).

The NDC’s dominance extended to the parliamentary elections, where they secured 183 seats, leaving the NPP with just 88.

The results have prompted widespread introspection within the NPP, with Kodua’s comments sparking debate over the party’s internal cohesion and its reliance on spiritual interventions in political contests.
