WE STILL WELCOME YOU – America Embassy In Ghana Reassures Ghanaians Amid Travel Ban Reports

Amid growing concerns about a travel ban, the U.S. Embassy in Accra has reminded Ghanaians that they are still welcome to visit their nation.

This coincides with reports that the Trump administration intends to extend its travel restrictions to up to 36 more nations, potentially including Ghana.

“We remain committed to welcoming visitors from Ghana who wish to study, invest, or engage in business activities in the United States,” the Embassy declared in a public post.

The announcement follows a Reuters story that said the administration of President Donald Trump is examining an internal State Department cable that suggests extending travel restrictions.

The leak has caused worry and conjecture in the impacted areas, including Ghana, even though the US government has not formally acknowledged the nations in question.

However, the message from the U.S. Embassy was unambiguous. There is nothing to be afraid of for legitimate Ghanaian travellers.

“It is essential for all applicants to comply with U.S. laws,” the Embassy said.

“Any attempts to enter the United States illegally, falsify information for a visa, work without proper authorization, or overstay a visa will incur significant penalties.”
