‘WE WILL MAKE SURE YOUR LIGHTS STAY ON’ – Mahama To Ghanaians

President John Dramani Mahama has reiterated his government’s dedication to tackling Ghana’s energy issues and avoiding a return of “dumsor”—the recurring power outages that have affected the country in the past.

Addressing the National Convention of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Mission Ghana on Thursday, January 9, President Mahama recognized the significant difficulties confronting the nation, especially within the energy sector.

He guaranteed the public that his administration was completely dedicated to tackling these challenges directly.

The President emphasized the impending danger of power failures caused by inadequate fuel resources for electricity production.

Nonetheless, he encouraged Ghanaians to stay optimistic and trust in his administration’s capability to identify lasting solutions.

He disclosed that on Wednesday, January 8, he called together a stakeholders’ meeting to discuss and execute creative strategies for stabilizing the energy supply.

We are assuming office at a critical time in our nation’s history. Ghana is faced with significant challenges. But that is exactly the reason why you elected us. We will transparently let you understand what those challenges are and we will take responsibility for solving them,”.

There is a threat of power outages but my brothers and sisters, don’t despair. You elected us to solve the problems not to put the blame on anybody else,” President Mahama added.

“I can assure you of some of the ideas they have come up with. We will make sure that your lights stay on and that we do not have dumsor, he added.
